on 2010-07-28I supposed it's really my fault for not exploring more deeply. Bought these for frozen frappacinos. Small diameter does not provided for enough suction - you get the cheeks pulled in, the eyes crossed, and no reward for your effort. These would be fine for liquids, but I'll have to keep looking for the heavy-duty super suckers.

on 2010-07-15I agree with previous review that the stainless steel straws have an odd taste that no amount of cleaning can erase. However, my son and husband don't notice it.
Maybe only certain people are sensitive to it. I almost didn't buy these for that reason. I already knew that I hated to drink from a stainless steel travel coffee cup that was given to me as a present. I should've gone with my first inclination to buy glass straws which are made in America and sold here by Amazon. (FYI: These are made in China.)
I do not recommend these for people who are sensitive to tastes and smells, but I will probably keep them for my son and husband and buy glass straws for myself.
Just the fact that plastic straws are no longer used and thrown away by my family is a step in the right direction for our environment!
**Note: Another reviewer for a similar product mentioned that the weird taste has something to do with an allergy to nickel which is in stainless steel.

on 2010-07-08These straws are wonderful. I got 3 sets (12 total) after seeing Oprah's fancy silver straw she always has in her water on the show! These straws are high quality, durable, and have done great in my dishwasher. Highly recommended product.

on 2010-06-16I like the idea of not using plastic and throwing it away! I keep them in the car.
Maybe they could make them in 2 different lengths. This size is great for regular size cups, but a longer one would be great for those taller/larger size cups. Maybe the could also come with a thin brush to clean with (although pipe cleaners work just as well)
I do like these and hope to buy another set

on 2010-05-19I bought these straws to avoid the waste of plastic straws. They are great. Use them, pop them in the dishwasher, and reuse them.
